The moral of the story?
Peggy Noonan pops some Ambien:
No, Peggy, the Left doesn't have a problem with Ms. Palin or her daughter's pregancy. It has a problem with moralizing hacks who are the first to condemn the moral failing of every other person in the world, but are strangely mute when it comes to a member of their own tribe.
In other words, the "evangelicals" you describe are full of shit, just like you!

UDPATE: This, from Alan Wolfe, is genius:
If only it were true.
...[Y]ou assume evangelical Christians will be appalled and left
agitated by the circumstances of Mrs. Palin's daughter. But modern American
evangelicals are among the last people who'd judge her harshly. It is the left
that is about to go crazy with Puritan judgments; it is the right that is about
to show what mellow looks like. Religious conservatives know something's wrong
with us, that man's a mess. They are not left dazed by the latest applications
of this fact. "This just in – there's a lot of sinning going on out there" is
not a headline they'd understand to be news.

UDPATE: This, from Alan Wolfe, is genius:
Sarah Palin's nomination is a public service. No longer will we hear lectures from the likes of Newt Gingrich telling poor women on welfare how to conduct their sex lives. Focus on the Family will have to focus on a different kind of family. William Bennett has no virtues left to write about. At long last our national nightmare over sexual hypocrisy has come to an end, and we can all thank John McCain for that.
If only it were true.

Too Bad to Check
Andy McCarthy, former federal prosecutor, is very, very angry about The New York Times's coverage of PalinBaby! And so, huffs Mr. McCarthy:
It's a very difficult thing to find out!
But! But! But!
Yeah! What about that? And like Mr. McCarthy, I'm way too angry to check all the stories the Times has not written on Obama and Antoin Rezko.
Also, in today's edition of FantasyLand NYT, there is a report on how Barack Obama has discovered a cure for obesity and John McCain eats whole puppies.
Has the Times done a story on Obama and Ayers yet?
It's a very difficult thing to find out!
But! But! But!
How about Obama and Rezko?
Yeah! What about that? And like Mr. McCarthy, I'm way too angry to check all the stories the Times has not written on Obama and Antoin Rezko.
