Lexical gymnastics
I know, I know, this has been commented on ad nasueum, but I hadn't read Frank Luntz's piece on his defense of language torture until now, and I could feel my brain melting in real time. Read it right now if you haven't already, just to get an idea of the forces that are out there trying to warp our discourse. It is truly, deeply frightening.
